About Color Converter

This color converter turns any color into HEX, RGB, HSL and CMYK values at the same time. Choose a color with the picker, or type a value such as #ff6600, rgb(255, 102, 0) or hsl(24, 100%, 50%). Short three-digit HEX codes work too. Each result has its own Copy button, so you can paste it straight into CSS or a design file.

Below the values, the tool builds complementary, analogous, triadic and shade palettes from your color, and clicking a swatch loads it as the new starting point. Note that the CMYK value is a simple mathematical conversion, so a printer's color profile may print slightly differently. Everything is calculated in your browser. Copy any value in one click.

Frequently asked questions

How do I convert HEX to RGB?

Type or paste the HEX code, with or without the hash, such as #c6ff2e. The converter shows the matching rgb() value instantly, along with HSL and CMYK. Use the Copy button next to the format you need.

Which color formats can I type in?

You can enter HEX in three or six digits, rgb() or rgba(), and hsl() or hsla(). The picker also lets you choose a color visually. Transparency (alpha) values are ignored; only the color itself is converted.

What is the difference between RGB and CMYK?

RGB mixes light and is used on screens, while CMYK mixes ink and is used in print. The CMYK shown here is a simple mathematical conversion, so ask your printer for a proofed value when exact print color matters.

What do the palettes show?

From your color the tool builds complementary (opposite on the color wheel), analogous (neighbors), triadic (three evenly spaced) and a five-step range of shades. Click any swatch to make it the current color.

Why do HSL values look rounded?

Hue, saturation and lightness are rounded to whole numbers, so converting back may differ by one step in RGB. For exact work, keep the original HEX code as your reference value.

Are my colors uploaded anywhere?

No. All conversions are calculated in your browser, and nothing you type or pick is sent to i40x or stored. The tool works with any color you enter, whether or not it is part of your brand.
