About URL Encoder & Decoder
This URL encoder and decoder converts text to percent-encoding and back. Use Encode component for a single value, such as a search term or a parameter, so that characters like & = ? and / are escaped. Use Encode full URL to keep the structure of an address intact while spaces and non-ASCII letters are escaped.
Decode turns sequences such as %20 or %D8%B9 back into readable text, and also reads a plus sign as a space, which is how HTML forms encode query strings. Parse URL splits a full address into protocol, host, path, hash and each query parameter. All of it runs in your browser. Results can be copied with one click.

- Checking which query parameters a tracking or redirect link actually carries.
- Preparing a redirect_uri or callback value to pass as a parameter in another URL.
- Debugging why a link with special characters returns an error or the wrong page.
Frequently asked questions
Should I encode a component or a full URL?
Use component for one value, such as a search term, because it escapes characters like : / ? & =. Use full URL for a whole address, since it leaves those structural characters as they are.
What does %20 mean in a URL?
It is the percent-encoded form of a space character. Other characters get their own codes, and non-ASCII letters such as Arabic are first converted to UTF-8 bytes and then written as several % sequences.
Why does decoding show Malformed % sequence?
A percent sign must be followed by two hexadecimal digits. A stray % in the text, or a truncated sequence, cannot be decoded. Fix or encode the lone % as %25 and try again.
Does decoding turn a plus sign into a space?
Yes. The decoder treats + as a space, as HTML form submissions do. If your value contains a real plus sign that must stay, it should have been encoded as %2B in the original.
How do I see the query parameters of a link?
Paste the full address starting with http:// or https:// and click Parse URL. You get the protocol, host, path and hash, followed by each parameter name and decoded value in a list.
Is my URL uploaded anywhere?
No. Encoding, decoding and parsing run in your browser, so links with tokens or private paths stay on your device. There are no limits and no sign-up.
