A QR code printed on a menu, a poster or packaging is hard to correct once it is out. A dynamic QR code solves that: the code contains a short link on this site, and you decide where the link goes. This update adds the other half, which is knowing whether anyone is scanning it.
Static or dynamic?
| Static | Dynamic | |
|---|---|---|
| Account needed | No | Free account |
| Change the destination later | No | Yes |
| Pause it | No | Yes |
| Scan statistics | No | Yes |
| Where it is stored | Only in the image | On our server |
Static codes never expire and never depend on us. Use them for things that will not change, like a Wi-Fi password or a contact card.
What the stats show
- The number of scans, and on which days.
- The country of the person scanning.
- The type of device and operating system.
That is all. We do not store IP addresses or any personal details of the people who scan.
How to set one up
- Open the QR Code Generator, choose what the code should do (a link, a contact card, Wi-Fi, an email and more) and style it.
- Switch to Dynamic and sign in with a free account.
- Download the code and print it. To change the destination later, open your dashboard and edit the code. The printed version keeps working.
