Spreadsheet exports and APIs rarely speak the same language. The new CSV to JSON converter bridges them in one step, in both directions, and it runs entirely in your browser.
What it handles
- Any common delimiter. Comma, semicolon, tab and pipe are detected automatically, so a semicolon-separated export from a regional version of Excel just works.
- Quoted fields. A value like
"Smith, John"stays in one piece, and line breaks inside quotes are preserved. - Headers. The first row becomes the keys, with duplicate and empty headers named safely. Turn it off if your file has no header.
- Types. Numbers, true/false and empty cells become real JSON values. Leading-zero values such as phone numbers, and numbers longer than 15 digits, are kept as text so nothing is corrupted.
- Two shapes. An array of objects, or an array of arrays; choose the indentation or minify.
From JSON back to CSV
Switch the direction to JSON → CSV. It accepts an array of objects (the columns are the union of all keys) or an array of arrays. Nested values are written as JSON text. Tick Add BOM and Excel will open Arabic text correctly instead of showing garbled characters.
How to use it
- Paste your CSV, or drop a
.csvor.jsonfile (up to 10 MB). - Check the delimiter, header and type options. The note under the box shows the number of rows and columns, and warns about rows with an uneven number of cells.
- Copy the result or download it.
