About Discount Calculator
This discount calculator shows the sale price after a percentage discount and how much money you save. Enter the original price and the discount percentage, and the tool returns what you pay, the amount saved and the price after discount. You can also add an optional sales tax or VAT percentage to see the final amount including tax.
The order of calculation matters: the discount is applied to the original price first, and tax is then added to the discounted price. If a shop shows prices with tax already included, leave the tax field empty to avoid counting it twice. Everything is calculated in your browser, so the prices you enter are not uploaded or stored anywhere.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate a discount?
Multiply the original price by the discount percentage divided by 100 to get the saving, then subtract it from the price. A 25% discount on 80 saves 20, so you pay 60.
Is tax applied before or after the discount?
After. The discount reduces the price first, then the tax percentage is added to the discounted amount. If your shop works differently, the final total may vary slightly, so check your receipt.
What if I want to know only how much I save?
Enter the original price and the discount percentage. The You save box shows the amount taken off. The tax field is optional and can be left empty.
How do I calculate two discounts in a row?
Run the first discount, then use its result as the new price for the second. Two 20% discounts do not equal 40%: on 100, the first gives 80 and the second gives 64.
Can the calculator find the original price from a sale price?
Not directly. This tool starts from the original price. To go backwards, divide the sale price by 1 minus the discount as a decimal, for example 60 / 0.75 gives 80 for a 25% discount.
Are my prices stored or uploaded?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to a server. There is no sign-up, and you can run as many calculations as you like.
