Volume units such as gallons, quarts, pints, cups and fluid ounces are US customary units, not imperial. In the data category you can choose binary units (1 KB = 1024 bytes) or decimal units labelled (1000), such as KB (1000). A year is counted as 365 days. Conversions run in your browser, and nothing is uploaded.

Which unit categories are supported?
Length, weight, volume, area, speed, time, data and temperature. Each has common metric and everyday units, for example miles, pounds, gallons, acres, knots, bytes and kelvin.
Are the gallons US or imperial?
US customary. Gallon, quart, pint, cup, fluid ounce, tablespoon and teaspoon all follow US definitions. A US gallon is 3.785 litres, which is smaller than an imperial gallon.
How do I convert Celsius to Fahrenheit?
Choose the Temperature category, enter the value, set From to degrees C and To to degrees F. The formula is Fahrenheit = Celsius x 9 / 5 + 32, so 20 C equals 68 F.
Why are there two kinds of KB, MB and GB?
Computers often count in powers of 1024 (1 KB = 1024 bytes), while storage makers use 1000. Both are offered: plain KB, MB, GB are 1024 based, and the ones labelled (1000) are decimal.
How many decimals does the result show?
The main answer shows up to 8 decimal places and trims trailing zeros. Very small or very large values may appear rounded, so double check if you need high precision for engineering work.
Is anything uploaded when I convert?
No. All conversions are calculated in your browser, there is no sign-up and no limit. The values you enter are not sent to a server.
