How do I calculate a tip?
Multiply the bill by the tip percentage and divide by 100. A 15% tip on 80 is 12, so the total is 92. The tool does this as you type, and the tip buttons fill the percentage for you.
How do I split a bill with a tip?
Enter the bill, choose the tip percentage and set Split between to the number of people. The tool adds the tip to the bill and divides the total equally, then shows Each person pays.
Should I calculate the tip before or after tax?
That depends on local custom. The tool applies the percentage to whatever bill amount you enter, so enter the pre-tax amount if you tip on that, or the full amount if you tip on the total.
How much should I tip?
Customs vary by country. 15 to 20 percent is common in the US, while in many places 5 to 10 percent, rounding up or no tip is normal. Check whether a service charge is already on your bill.
Can I split the bill unevenly?
Not directly. The tool divides the total equally between the number of people. For uneven shares, calculate each person's part of the bill separately and enter it with the same tip percentage.
Is my bill data stored?
