About VAT Calculator
This VAT calculator adds VAT to a price that excludes it, or strips VAT out of a price that already includes it. Enter the amount, choose whether it includes VAT, then pick a country preset or type your own rate. You instantly see the price without VAT, the VAT amount and the price with VAT, each rounded to two decimals.
Presets cover the UAE (5%), Saudi Arabia (15%), Bahrain (10%), Oman (5%), Egypt (14%), Jordan (16%), the UK, Germany, France, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Ireland, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Singapore and India. Typing a rate switches the list to custom. Rates change, so confirm the current one with your tax authority. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is sent to us.

Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate VAT on a price?
To add VAT, multiply the price by the rate and add the result: price x (1 + rate / 100). Select 'does not include VAT', enter the amount and the rate, and the calculator shows the VAT and the total.
How do I remove VAT from a price that includes it?
Divide the total by 1 plus the rate. For example, 105 at 5% gives 100 without VAT and 5 of VAT. Choose 'already includes VAT' and the tool does this automatically. Subtracting 5% of 105 would be wrong.
What is the VAT rate in the UAE and Saudi Arabia?
The calculator presets use 5% for the UAE and 15% for Saudi Arabia. Rates can change, and some goods are zero-rated or exempt, so check the current rate and rules with the FTA or ZATCA before issuing invoices.
Can I use a rate that is not in the list?
Yes. Type any percentage in the VAT rate field, including decimals, and the country selector switches to custom. This works for reduced rates, other countries or a future rate change.
Does it work for GST or sales tax?
The formulas are the same for any percentage tax charged on the net price, so you can use it for GST. Some presets are GST rates. US-style sales tax added at the register is calculated the same way.
Is my amount uploaded anywhere?
No. The calculation runs in your browser, so the amounts you type stay on your device. There is no limit on how many calculations you can run, and no sign-up is needed.
Is the result suitable for an official invoice?
Treat it as a calculation aid. Rounding rules differ between tax authorities and line-by-line versus invoice-total rounding can change the last digit. Confirm the rules and the current rate with your tax authority.
