About Remove Line Breaks

Remove line breaks from text when copied content arrives with a hard return at the end of every line, as often happens with PDFs, emails and scanned documents. Paste your text, pick what should replace each break, and the joined result appears instantly. Windows, Mac and Linux line endings are all treated the same way, so mixed sources are not a problem.

You can replace each break with a space, with nothing at all, or with a comma and space to turn a list into one comma-separated line. A fourth option joins lines inside each paragraph but keeps blank lines between paragraphs. A tick box also collapses repeated spaces and trims the result. Everything runs in your browser and your text is never uploaded.

Frequently asked questions

How do I remove line breaks from text?

Paste the text into the box, choose what replaces each line break (a space, nothing or a comma and space), and copy the result. The output updates as you type, so there is no button to press.

How do I keep paragraphs but remove the other line breaks?

Choose the option that replaces breaks with a space but keeps blank lines between paragraphs. Single line breaks inside a paragraph are joined, while a blank line still separates one paragraph from the next.

Why does text copied from a PDF have so many line breaks?

PDFs store each visual line separately, so copying often brings a hard return at the end of every line. Removing the breaks with a space rejoins the sentences into normal flowing paragraphs.

Does it handle Windows and Mac line endings?

Yes. Windows (CRLF) and old Mac (CR) endings are converted to a single standard line break before processing, so text from different systems behaves the same way.

Can I turn a list into a comma-separated line?

Yes. Pick the comma option and each line break becomes a comma followed by a space. Leave the collapse spaces box ticked to trim stray spaces around the items and at the ends.

Is my text uploaded anywhere?

No. The tool runs entirely in your browser, so the text you paste stays on your device and is not sent to our servers. There is also no limit on how many times you use it.
