About Slug Generator
This slug generator turns a title or phrase into a clean URL slug, such as my-first-blog-post. Type or paste a title, pick a separator (hyphen, underscore or dot) and copy the result. You can enter several titles, one per line, and each line becomes its own slug. It is handy for blog posts, product pages, file names and permalinks.
Accents are removed (an accented e becomes a plain e), the & sign becomes and, and punctuation turns into a single separator with none left at the start or end. By default only Latin letters and digits are kept, so Arabic letters are dropped; tick Keep non-Latin letters to retain Arabic or other scripts. Lowercase is on by default. Everything runs in your browser.

Frequently asked questions
What is a URL slug?
It is the readable part of a web address that identifies a page, such as my-first-post in example.com/my-first-post. Short, lowercase slugs with hyphens are easy to read and are commonly recommended for SEO.
Should I use hyphens or underscores in a slug?
Hyphens are the usual choice for URLs because search engines and people read them as word separators. Underscores and dots are offered for file names, code or systems that expect them.
Does the slug generator work with Arabic titles?
Yes, if you tick Keep non-Latin letters. Without it, only Latin letters and digits stay, so an Arabic title would become empty or lose its Arabic words. Check that your site supports Unicode URLs.
What happens to accents and special characters?
Accents are stripped, so letters like e with an accent become plain e. The ampersand becomes the word and, and any other symbols or spaces are replaced by a single separator. Leading and trailing separators are removed.
Can I make slugs for many titles at once?
Yes. Put one title on each line and each line is converted into its own slug on the matching line of the result. Copy the whole result and paste it into your spreadsheet or import file.
Is my text sent anywhere?
No. Slugs are generated in your browser, so nothing is uploaded or stored. The tool is free, needs no account and has no usage limit.
