About Photo Metadata Viewer & Remover
Photos from phones and cameras often carry hidden metadata. This tool shows what is inside a JPG photo, such as camera make and model, lens, software, date taken, ISO, aperture, focal length, exposure time and GPS coordinates, and highlights when a location is present. It then gives you a clean copy without that information.
Detailed reading works for JPG files. JPG, PNG and WebP are re-saved through your browser without any metadata; AVIF files are saved as WebP. Because the image is re-encoded, JPG and WebP copies are recompressed at the quality you pick, 95 by default, so file size may change slightly. Up to 40 photos are handled at once, and nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
How do I remove EXIF data and GPS location from a photo?
Drop the photo, click Remove metadata and download the clean copy. The tool re-saves the picture without any metadata, so GPS location, camera details and dates are no longer in the new file.
What information can the tool show me?
For JPG photos it reads camera make and model, lens, software, date taken, last modified, ISO, aperture, focal length, exposure time and GPS location with altitude, when those fields exist.
Does removing metadata change how my photo looks?
The picture looks the same, but it is re-encoded. JPG and WebP copies are recompressed at the quality you choose, so the file size can differ slightly from the original.
Does it work with PNG and WebP, or only JPG?
The clean copy works for JPG, PNG and WebP, and AVIF becomes WebP. Detailed viewing of camera and GPS data is only available for JPG files, where EXIF is common.
Is the EXIF orientation preserved?
Yes. Photos are read with their rotation applied, so a picture that was stored sideways is saved upright in the clean copy. Orientation data itself is removed with the rest of the metadata.
Are my photos uploaded when I check or clean them?
No. Reading and cleaning happen in your browser, and your pictures are never sent to a server. That matters here because the metadata can include your exact location.
