About JPG to PNG Converter
This JPG to PNG converter saves your JPG pictures as PNG files, a lossless format that is handy for editing, layers and repeated saving. Drop one file or many and press Convert. The PNG keeps the exact pixels of the JPG and its pixel size, and the file name stays the same with a .png extension.
Two things are worth knowing. A JPG already lost some detail when it was first saved, and converting to PNG does not bring it back; it only stops further loss. And a JPG has no transparency, so the PNG will not have a transparent background. Expect PNG files to be larger than the JPG. There is no quality slider because PNG is lossless. Nothing is uploaded.

Frequently asked questions
How do I convert JPG to PNG?
Drop your JPG files on the page and press Convert. There are no settings, because PNG is lossless. Download each PNG, or use the ZIP button to get all of the converted files together.
Will the PNG have a transparent background?
No. A JPG has no transparency, so the PNG looks the same as the JPG. To make the background transparent you need an image editor or a background remover; this tool only changes the file format.
Does converting JPG to PNG improve the quality?
No. The PNG keeps the pixels of the JPG exactly, including any compression artefacts already in it. The benefit is that further edits and saves as PNG do not lose more quality.
Why is the PNG file bigger than the JPG?
PNG stores every pixel without lossy compression, while JPG discards detail to save space. For photos the PNG is often several times larger. If size matters, keep the JPG or consider WebP.
Can I convert other image types to PNG here?
Yes, other common types such as WebP, GIF, BMP, SVG and AVIF also work if your browser can open them. Animated GIFs become a single still image. For WebP there is a dedicated page.
Are my JPG photos uploaded?
No. The conversion happens in your browser and your photos never leave your device. You can convert up to 40 files at once, each up to 60 MB, without an account and without a watermark.
