About Image to Text (OCR)
Image to text uses OCR to read the words in a picture and save them as a plain .txt file you can copy, edit or search. It accepts PNG, JPG, TIFF and BMP images as well as scanned PDFs, and works with English, Arabic or both together. Upload the file, choose the language and download the text.
For the best result use a sharp, straight, well lit image where the text is large enough to read comfortably, and select the correct language. Handwriting and very small text are unreliable. If nothing can be recognized, the tool tells you so with a clear message instead of an empty file. Uploads are deleted after 30 minutes and there is no watermark.

How do I extract text from an image?

Can it read Arabic text from images?
Yes. You can choose English and Arabic together, English only or Arabic only. For single-language images, choosing that language usually gives a cleaner result. Sharp, large text works best.
Can I extract text from a scanned PDF?
Yes, scanned PDFs are accepted as well as images, and the result is a .txt file. Pages that already contain real text are skipped, so a PDF with selectable text may give little output.
Why did I get a message that no text was found?
The image may be blank, too blurry, too small or low in contrast, or the wrong language was selected. Try a clearer or larger image, crop to the text and choose the correct language.
Does it read handwriting?
Handwriting and very small text are unreliable and often come out wrong. The tool works best with printed text in clear, high-resolution images. Always proofread the result before using it.
What are the file size and daily limits?
Guests can upload files up to 10 MB each and run 15 jobs per day. A free account raises this to 50 MB per file and 150 jobs per day. There is no watermark and no sign-up is needed to use the tool.
Is it safe to upload my file, and how long is it kept?
The file is uploaded to our server, processed, and deleted automatically after 30 minutes. The server has no internet access. The result has no watermark and you do not need an account. Avoid uploading anything you are not allowed to share.
