Today the PDF tools got five new members. Three convert office documents to PDF, and two read the text in scans and images, in English and in Arabic.
Convert office files to PDF
- Word to PDF takes DOC, DOCX, ODT, RTF and TXT files.
- Excel to PDF takes XLS, XLSX, ODS and CSV files.
- PowerPoint to PDF takes PPT, PPTX and ODP files.
Upload the file, press Process and download the PDF. The conversion runs on our server and your file is deleted automatically afterwards. There is no watermark and no account is needed.
Read text from scans and images
- OCR PDF turns a scanned PDF or an image into a searchable PDF where you can select and copy text.
- Image to Text extracts the text from an image or scanned PDF into a plain text file.
Choose English, Arabic or both before you start. A clean, straight scan at a reasonable resolution gives the best result; always proofread names and numbers, because no recognition is perfect.
Chain them together
When a tool finishes you can continue straight into the next one. A typical sequence: Word to PDF, then Compress PDF to make it email-sized, then Protect PDF to add a password.
Limits
Guests can process files up to 10 MB each and 15 jobs a day. A free account raises that to 50 MB and 150 jobs a day.
