About End of service gratuity in the UAE
In the UAE the gratuity is based on your last basic salary only, not on allowances. A day of pay is the basic salary divided by 30. For each of the first five years you receive 21 days, and for every year after that 30 days.
For example, on a basic salary of 9,000 a day is 300. Three years of service give 18,900. Eight years give 31,500 for the first five years plus 27,000 for the next three, which is 58,500. Nothing is due under one year of service, and the total can never exceed 24 months of basic salary.
The calculator below is set to the UAE. This tool applies one formula whatever the reason for leaving, so check your own case against your contract.

Frequently asked questions
Do allowances count in the UAE calculation?
Not in this calculator. It uses your basic salary only, which is the figure on the first line of your contract or payslip.
Is there a cap on the gratuity?
Yes. The total cannot be more than 24 months of basic salary. If the formula gives more, the calculator shows the capped amount and says so.
What if I worked less than a year?
Under the rule applied here, gratuity is due after at least one year of service, so the result is zero below that.
Does the reason for leaving change the amount?
The tool uses the same formula for every case and hides the resignation choice. Real entitlement can depend on the contract and the circumstances, so confirm the figure with your employer or the ministry.
