About Rotate PDF

Rotate PDF files that were scanned sideways or upside down. Pick 90, 180 or 270 degrees clockwise and the new PDF is saved with the rotation applied, so it opens the right way up in any viewer. The output file is named after yours with -rotated added. It works on scanned files and ordinary documents alike.

Leave the pages field empty to rotate every page, or enter pages and ranges such as 2,4-6 to turn only those. The rotation is added to each page's current orientation, so rotating an already turned page by 90 degrees turns it a further 90. To turn a page counter-clockwise by 90 degrees, choose 270. Files are processed on our server and deleted after 30 minutes.

Frequently asked questions

How do I rotate a PDF permanently?

Upload the PDF, choose the angle, and process it. The tool saves the rotation in the new file, so it stays rotated when opened in any PDF viewer, unlike viewing-only rotation.

Can I rotate only one page of a PDF?

Yes. Enter the page number or range, such as 3 or 2,4-6, in the pages field. Leaving it empty rotates all pages in the document.

Which direction does it rotate?

The angles are clockwise: 90 turns right, 180 turns the page upside down and 270 turns it left, which equals 90 degrees counter-clockwise. The pages you did not select keep their current orientation.

Does rotating reduce quality or change the file size?

No. Only the page orientation setting changes; the content is not re-rendered, so text and images are unchanged and the size stays almost identical. Your pages stay sharp.

Can I use z to mean the last page?

Yes. Ranges such as 3-z rotate from page 3 to the last page, so you do not need to know the exact page count. It works the same way for every range.

Are my files private, and what are the limits?

Files are uploaded to our server and deleted automatically after 30 minutes. Guests can use up to 10 MB per file and 15 jobs a day; free members get 50 MB and 150 jobs.
