About Word to Markdown

This free Word to Markdown converter turns .docx documents into clean Markdown. Headings keep their levels, bulleted and numbered lists stay lists, bold, italic and links are kept, and Word tables become Markdown tables. The result is compact, readable text that AI chats, note apps and documentation sites understand.

Images become short placeholders by default, which is what you want for an AI prompt; choose “Keep images” to download a .zip with the Markdown file and an images folder. Long documents can be split into chunks by token count. The file is converted in your browser and never uploaded; signed-in members can convert up to 10 files at once.
